Exhibition: Portraits Gallery/Games/ Music/3 Sisters The Historical Understandings - SS2H1, SSH2

* Students will do 24 galleries portrait walk and match portraits with descriptions of historical figures in Georgia. 

* Students will do things the Georgia Creek and Cherokee children were responsible for and games they played.

    1. Make cornmeal from dried corn (grinding)
    2. Weaving
    3. Corn Cob Game
    4. Musical instruments
    5. Animal Furs/Who Am I Foot Print Matching
    6. Making Toss/Catch Toy
    7. 3 Sisters Bust and Recipe

Exhibition: Puzzles, Drawings, Making Maps The Geographic Understandings - SS2G1, SS2G2, SSH1, SS2H2

* Students will find facts with a puzzle that allows them to test their knowledge on the location of the five regions in the state of Georgia.

  1. Trace and color the regions and rivers of Georgia

 

Exhibition: Two Scenarios, Moving Pieces The Government, Civic Understandings SS2CG1, SS2CG3, SS2H1

* Students will decide which scenario is rules or laws.

* Students will move pieces to demonstrate who has certain positive citizenship traits.

Exhibition: Roll Playing, Auction The Economic Understandings SS2E1, SS2E2, SS2E3, SS2E4

* Students will do a short skit on scarcity, ways in which services and goods are allocated.

* Students learn how to barter.

* Students will make their own piggy bank

 

 

 

 

 

Exhibition: Make Compass Rose The Map and Globe Skills

* Students will make their own compass rose and learn how to use it.

* Students will understand what a map and globe are and their differences.

* Students will learn how and when to use a map or globe.

* Students will be able to compare similarities and differences when processing information.
